Questions for your Leasing Agent

Getting a good deal on a lease is more than just getting a good copier. It’s making sure that you are getting a good price on that copier and that you are working with someone how has your best interest at heart. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of getting a new machine for your business. However, if you don’t have some questions for your leasing agent to see if your trust them, then you could end up signing something you really don’t like.

Remember that many leasing companies don’t really care about you. They just see you as a way to get a paycheck, and want to get as much money from you as possible. This isn’t how everyone is, but you will definitely run into salespeople like this.

Having a few questions for your leasing agent is a good way to see if you trust them or not. Listen to their answers and try to make sure they are giving you the full truth. If you think they aren’t being honest then they probably aren’t.

Here are some sample questions for your leasing agent to see if you two will work together well.

  1. What is the entire price breakdown of my lease? Don’t let them just tell you the leasing price for the copier. Understand what all of your payments are and exactly where your money is going to. This includes maintenance contracts, consumables, etc.
  2. What can I expect in terms of maintenance? How much help will you really get? You don’t want to be left on your own when you need help the most.
  3. How many prints will I need? Tricky salespeople love to get people to buy more prints than they actually need. If they become pushy here then they probably just want your money.

Trust your gut and only work with people you trust. Don’t settle for someone you don’t think has your best interests at heart.
